According to the website MacRumors, the information provided by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, reveals Apple’s plan for 2018. Three new research notes provided by Kuo suggests that the brand will launch three iPhones flaunting iPhone X like design this year which includes –

  • A 5.8-inch OLED display “second-generation iPhone X”.
  • A 6.5-inch OLED display “iPhone X Plus” and,
  • A 6.1-inch Full Active LCD display “iPhone X SE”.

The information further reveals, all the three iPhones will sport an all screen bezel-less display based on the last years iPhone X. Further, Apple might ditch the traditional physical Home button embedded with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor and replace it with the front facing TrueDepth camera with Face ID support.

The second generation iPhone X and the bigger variant iPhone X Plus in 2018 will retain all the existing features of the iPhone X, whereas the brand is suggested to exclude some features from the rumored iPhone X SE considering its low offered price.

The affordable variant iPhone X SE is said to be built of an aluminum chassis instead of a stainless steel chassis. Further cut-offs may include a single lens camera at the rear, lack of wireless charging, 3GB RAM over 4GB alongside the removal of 3D Touch support as well.

As for the prices, second generation iPhone X is expected to get the price tag of around $999, the bigger variant iPhone X Plus at around $1,099 whereas the affordable iPhone X SE by eliminating some of the features may settle with a price tag in between $700 to $800.

As for the aesthetics of the premium iPhone X and iPhone X Plus, the device are expected to sport a 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED displays respectively. Both the devices are said to continue to offer dual lens rear camera setup alongside upgraded two-cell L-shaped battery technology that will improve battery life.

The hardware of all three devices is expected to be powered by an in-house A12 processor integrated with improved LTE chips from Qualcomm and Intel which will offer faster LTE speeds. The memory department will offer 4GB of RAM.

All the three variants will come equipped with larger battery sizes that include (2800 vs 2,715 mAh) on the next-gen iPhone X, 3,300 to 3,400 mAh on the iPhone X Plus whereas iPhone X SE with 2,950mAh.

Moreover, it is rumored that the brand by following the footprint of 2013 where it replaced the iPhone 5 with the iPhone 5s and 5c, might discontinue its current flagship iPhone X with the launch of the next generation iPhone X and iPhone X Plus instead of lowering its price tag and selling it as a lower-cost older-generation device.
