Huawei announced its new affordable smartphone Mate SE in the United States. The device is just a rebranded variant of the last year’s Honor 7X with minor changes which includes more RAM and storage.

Price and Availability
The device is currently available on Amazon.com carrying a price tag of $229.99 (Approx. Rs.15,000). It is offered in two color options – grey and gold. However, the global launch of the device is yet unknown.
Features and Specifications
As for the aesthetics, the device sports a 5.93-inch full HD+ display bearing resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels with 18:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood, the device gets a 2.36GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC mated with Mali T830-MP2 graphics and 4GB RAM. Storage department offers 64GB of onboard storage expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card.
It is fueled by a 3340 mAh non-removable battery which according to the company offers up to 21 hours of talk time and supports fast charging.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the rear of the device packs a dual camera setup which includes a 16MP primary sensor with LED Flash, PDAF along with a 2MP secondary sensor.
While in the front it gets an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. Apart from dual cameras and LED flash, the rear also gets a fingerprint sensor.
The handset out of the box runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with Emotion UI 5.1 (EMUI) user interface on top. It measures 156.5 x 75.3 x 7.6 mm and weighs 165 grams.
Finally, for connectivity, it comes with Hybrid Dual SIM, 4G with VoLTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
