Rumors and reports suggested that Xiaomi might skip the launch of Mi 7 or any other smartphones at the MWC 2018 to be held in Barcelona. The brand couple of months back announced its best Mi Mix 2 smartphone and according to the latest reports, Xiaomi seems ready with its successor.
The successor will carry a name tag of Mi Mix 2S and not Mi Mix 3. As the name suggests, the device will bring many similarities with minor upgrades just like its predecessor Mi Mix 2.
Moreover, according to the reports, the brand is preparing the launch of its successor prior MWC 2018 event which is set to kick off in the second half of February.
As for the aesthetics, the device will flaunt similar design as the Mi Mix 2, which seems reasonable with the given ‘S’ branding. The hardware is expected to debut with the latest and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is expected to be featured in almost all high-end Android handsets this year.
The camera department is likely to get an upgrade in the term of primary camera sensors sourced from Sony IMX363. Moreover, it will support larger pixels and faster dual-pixel auto-focussing alongside low light imaging capabilities.
There is no other information regarding the device as of now, but if the reports are considered to be true Xiaomi might announce the Mi Mix 2s prior to the launch of Samsung’s flagship devices S9 and S9+ claiming “world’s first” to get equipped with the Snapdragon 845 SoC.
